    My name is Wang Liwei and my English name is Brayan. I'm 12 years old. I just graduated from the primary school of Yunnan University. Now I'm a freshman of a middle school and study English in Kunming He Huiyuan foreign language training center. Today my topic is "high score or high ability".

     There are two different types of schools. One type of schools pays attention to improving students' abilities. The other type of schools focus on training students to get high score. For example in American, primary schools usually pay more attention to improving students' abilities. I have been to United States and studied in a primary school, Virginia Arlinton Science Focus School for two years. I have a deep impression on American schools' life. In Amrican primary schools, the students have a lot of activity time during school days. They have few homework after school and they have enough time to do what they want to do. American pupils get rich knowledge in many ways, not only in classroom but also in various practical activities. For instance, they can go to library to do reading and write their reading reports. They can go to museums and they also can do scientific experiments and so on. In this way, the students' abilities are improved. Some Chinese primary schools are examples of other type of schools. In these schools, it takes a lot of time for students to do many tests and examinations. After school, children have to stay at home or in the classroom to finish a bunch of homework. They have no any activity-time at all, especially during the final.

    In American primary school's classroom, the students usually sit in a circle, face to face. The students always activate in class. They like discussing questions with teacher warmly. But in some Chinese primary school, teacher talks most time in class and students just listen to the teacher. It often makes students boring.

    Now a reform for improving students' ability and quality is going on Chinese primary schools. More and more communication are going on between Chinese and foreign primary schools. It is thing that I expect. Today we are studying in school but tomorrow we will make a big contribution to our society. If we just have a high score but no any ability or just a low ability, what can we do for the society? I hope our education system makes big reform continuously. Give back more free time to the students. We need high ability not just high score.
